What a difference a decade or two makes!

I'm fascinated with everything baby.  Being a mom, it's interesting to see what a mama's brain goes through during pregnancy, from how their nursery is decorated, their nesting instinct, changes in mood and the all important name selection.  It's also interesting to see the trends in baby names through the years.  Growing up in suburban Western Massachusetts in the mid 80s, I never had any classmates named Margaret or Betty but I certainly sat in classes with fellow Jessicas, Johsuas and Jennifers.  That being said, if I were going for baby # 3 (which I am not) I would lean towards a classic name.

  1. We tossed around the name "Maeve" for a girl and "Calvin" for a boy, but wound up with Waverly and Griffin instead. With names like ours, we just couldn't go traditional!
