It's SEW easy!

I will be the very first to admit I'm a little sewing challenged.  So, when I came across an old magazine from Simplicity, I thought it might help me learn the basics.  I loved the "how to" regarding applique - although, I'm not quite sure if I'd be applique-ing elephants on my tank tops anytime soon...

The first thing I would do when wearing my Little House on the Praise inspired ensemble would be break into my karate pose!
Perfect outfits for bike riding....or any occasion really!
I can't decide if I think this owl is scary or adorable...
I am determined to get some crafty projects done this Summer in anticipation for a more handmade Christmas.  Our family will be the product testers.  So, if you see our entire family walking around with turtleneck gingham shirts, you can blame it on this Let Yourself Sew mag from 1972.

Have a great weekend!  We are off for a little getaway but no worries, I'll be posting fast and furiously to let you know every last lucky winner of the Make a Wish giveaway event!  It's coming so stay tuned.  In the meantime, check out the Sandy's Baking Memories and Playing with Fiber giveaways.

  1. The placement of the elephants' eyes is unfortunate. :)

  4. Oh, how funny. Good luck with your adventures into sewing.

People always ask me why I sew and I tell them that it relaxes me. Then they laugh and tell me their horror story. So if I can give you any advice it would be - If you get frustrated, put it down for the day or even a week. Come back to it when you are relaxed and ready to tackle it again.

Good luck, if you get confussed let me know.
