Ah, NUTS!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Call me a sap but I love Valentine's Day.  A sweet holiday, full of kisses and little momentos to celebrate the sweeties in your life.  This year is the first year Riley will participate in a Valentine's Day exchange at school.  She found the cutest little cards from Eeboo and worked hard to write a special message to each on of her friends.

As for treats, we decided that white chocolate heart pops would be a fun way to celebrate.

Using a heart shaped pop mold, we sprinkled...sprinkles
Then poured our white chocolate into our pyrex...
We heated the chocolate in the microwave for 30 seconds and checked it each time to ensure we didn't overcook the chocolate and once melted, poured it into each heart mold.
We gently placed our lollipop sticks and wiggled them to ensure chocolate covered them.  Then, we poked them to ensure it was distributed correctly and no air bubbles were present.
After a couple of hours, they hardened and we simply popped them out of their molds...
From there, we wrapped each on individually and secured with ribbon.  They looked really cute!  However, the day after we made them, we received a notice that because of allergies, the administration had decided they would only allow prepackaged treats that clearly stated they were nut free.

I've never been a huge fan of white chocolate but somehow, I managed to consume several of these suckers making it a not so sweet pre-Valentine's Day weekend for me.  This morning though, my bellyache has subsided and I'm ready to bring on the kisses and flowers!

Hope your day is sweet!
