Rustic Peach Galette after a day at the farm!

Of course we took full advantage of the beautiful late Summer weather and went Peach picking.  They did not disappoint.  We started off with Donut Peaches and made our way to the Garnet Beauties.  So sweet, delicious and juicy.  We had a hard time not dropping to the ground and devouring them  - well, at least we made it back into our wagon!
Of course we enjoyed fresh peaches and are still enjoying them!  This past weekend I made a Peach Galette which was delicious and fresh!  So simple, I found this recipe from Real Simple mag....

Ingredients

  • refrigerated rolled piecrust
  • thinly sliced nectarines or peaches
  • 3 tablespoons turbinado sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut up
  1. Heat oven to 375° F with the rack in the lowest position.
  2. Place the piecrust on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Leaving a 2-inch border, top with the nectarines or peaches. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of the sugar and the butter. Fold the edges of the dough toward the center, overlapping slightly and partially covering the fruit. Brush the dough with 2 teaspoons water and sprinkle with the remaining tablespoon of sugar.
  3. Bake until the juices are bubbling and the crust is golden (tent with foil if the crust browns too quickly), 35 to 40 minutes.
Happy Weekend everyone!  We will be enjoying the last one before school starts next week!
