Writing The Story Of Our Lives

The past week has got me thinking a lot about life and family.  It's so easy to get caught up in the day to day that often times I forget that each day is a gift.  I need to remind myself that we are all writing the stories of our lives: making memories, being grateful, doing the best we can do on a daily basis (or that's the goal) and as a parent, raising little people to grow up to be good citizens.  So many important things to remember and easily forgotten.  I know that it's a process but I'm hopeful that my children will be raised to be the best people that they can be, to set goals, to surround themselves with goodness, love and family.  I'm thankful that my two girls will always have one another.  As each year passes - and they pass too quickly, I love to watch their relationship grow stronger.  They are silly, fight like crazy, they play, they laugh and they love.  They are learning to respect one another as individuals, they are sisters and friends.
Sisters Make the Best Friends In The World - Marilyn Monroe

A question I'm asking myself and friends...How do you write the story of your life when there is so much "other stuff" going on that the most important things have the tendency to slide?  I guess I'm focused on being aware and trying hard to be thoughtful throughout the day.  What works for you?

  1. Aww, such cute photos. Sometimes it is hard to be thoughtful throughout the day. I just have to force myself to stop and take a minute!

  2. I take deep breaths! Seriously, some days I take so many that it's no wonder I don't hyperventilate! But I do believe that taking a deep breath, focusing on the breath and trying to forget what got me here in the first place, helps. But also that realizing I'm not perfect. That I will fall from time to time and forgiving myself.
    Love the pictures! ;)
