Lucy's Granola Feature and a Giveaway!

I'm so excited to shout the praises of Lucy's Granola!  This stuff is beyond good! Deliciously crunchy, tasty and full of good ingredients.  A little more about the family run company, which is based in Blue Hill, Maine :
Lucy's Granola is a golden mix of whole grains and unprocessed ingredients. Oats, wheat and spelt are combined with almonds, coconut, cranberries and raisins. Flax seeds add beneficial omega-3 fatty acids and lignins. Honey, maple syrup from a family farm, canola oil and sea salt round out the mix, which Lucy then bakes to her high standard of perfection.

Every batch is churned BY HAND!

Lucy is as mindful of making good granola as she is of keeping the process simple. She uses local ingredients whenever possible. Many products come from independent businesses and travel miles are kept to a minimum. If only coconuts and almonds grew in Maine, Lucy would buy those here, too!

A little more about Lucy herself and some fun facts about her, in her own words...

I am now an American Citizen and am very proud to be employing people and paying payroll taxes - that feels great to add to the economy.

Favorite Movie? I love the holiday movie ' Love Actually' - always makes me laugh and cry. I love having my family around and cooking and cooking endlessly - my husband hates Christmas and last year we all went to Israel and had a great vacation and ignored the holidays (I am actually Jewish so it all made sense).

Worst Gift? Worst gift ever was a wooden spoon from my cruel stepmother who gave it to me aged 13 for stirring all the trouble I made - I still feel the humiliation. She wasn't really cruel but frustrated with me but it was awful and horrid at the time. I had to pretend to laugh.

Best gift?  Best gift is when my friend Sarah comes to stay for Christmas - she lost her husband to Lou Garrett's disease and makes us so appreciate everything. She is amazingly happy again but brings out the best in my family.

I was lucky enough to taste test several varieties of this granola and trust me, it did not disappoint.  Take a look at Lucy's Extra Seedy Granola, which also includes puffed rice, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, along with the classic variety of her granola.  The taste is rich and delicious.  Bliss in my hand!
Lucy's Granola also offers a Gluten Free Variety after Lucy herself was diagnosed with a gluten intolerance.  By replacing the wheat, germ and bran with puffed rice and other seeds, she was able to keep the quality and delicious taste in this version of her granola.
But for me, hands down...my absolute favorite?  That's right friends, Naughty Chocolate Cherry.  Flavorful, sinful and addictive.  I'd say both naughty and nice friends would enjoy this delicious granola in their stocking!
All of these varietys, along with the yummy Really Nutty Pecan, are available on Lucy's Granola website!  Lucy's Granola also offers snack packs in 3 or 5, 4 oz variety pack bags.  Perfect for on the go snacking, teacher gifts and stocking stuffers, a great way to keep you fueled through the holidays and beyond.  And, if you order 12 items or more you'll get free shipping!  This is a great corporate gift idea - healthy and supporting a New England, family owned and operated business.

Buy it! Order some to have on hand for holiday time or gift time through Lucy's Granola here or check out the list of proud retailers that carry this delicious granola here!
