A trip to the beach...

Or so we thought!  Our New England weather again proved to be very unpredictable with yet another snowfall, equalling another snowday for the kids and more shoveling for Mama.  Such a difference from last year at this time when we were experiencing warmer than average temperatures.  Last year, in March we made our very first trip to the beach.  No,  there was no swimming but there was playing in the sand and just enjoying the extra vitamin D and the beauty of the ocean.  Those moments are the ones we will always remember, unexpected gifts that mean so much.  Now that Spring is finally here, and we are inching back into the 40's, we are looking ahead to more time outside and more sunshine!  I can't wait to get out in the fresh air!  Just the thought makes us all giddy!
For now, we will have a tea party and bask in the sun....from the inside.  We will also enjoy the soon-to-be-melted snow while we can.  The girls had a wonderful time playing in last week's sticky snow, perfect for building (hopefully) one last snowman and taking full advantage of our sledding!
Someone joked the other day, "We will be complaining when it's 90 degrees in July!  We're never happy!"  After this Winter, I disagree.  I can't wait for the warm up! Bring on a heat wave, I'll be so happy when I don't have to suit up my gang with boots and hats and gloves and coats and snowpants....

Fingers crossed we can pull off an egghunt without snow for Easter this year!

What are you looking most forward to as the weather gets nicer?

  2. I can't wait for nicer weather. Granted, we haven't had near as much snow as you guys, but it has been pretty cold here! We really dodged a bullet this weekend - St. Louis got a foot of snow! We're about a 2 1/2 hour drive south of STL so I'm glad the snow skipped us.

It seems like winter has been especially hard on you guys this year. Hopefully that doesn't mean the summer will be hard, too!
