Brown Sugar Pumpkin Bread

Yes, more bread!  We make a lot of it around here:  for fundraisers, breakfasts and snacks.  This is one treat we always make a lot of!  I always make an extra loaf to tuck into the freezer.  This time it was Brown Sugar Pumpkin Bread, yummy!
Brown Sugar Pumkin Bread
Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups flour (as always, I use King Arthur
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup solid packed pumpkin
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons butter (regular or dairy free)
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  2. Sift the flour, baking soda,  cinnamon and nutmeg into a large bowl. Mix in the pumpkin, brown sugar, buttermilk, egg and butter until well blended. Pour into a 9x5 inch loaf pan and smooth the top.
  3. Bake for 1 hour in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  4. Enjoy!

  2. This looks delicious! It's funny because I was just thinking about pumpkin bread this morning and searching for recipes! I hope I can get around to making some soon. If all goes well I may post about pumpkin bread in the future, too! :)
