Rollercoaster!

It's safe to say that the first week back to school after Christmas vacation was quite full and exhausting!  We welcomed a new baby cousin into the family, survived our first Polar Vortex, and said goodbye to my Mom's sweet pup who died suddently last Thursday.  It was a week full of emotions and ups and downs.  Even the temperatures, that started below zero and ended yesterday in the low 50's were quite extreme.  The weekend was low key but unfortunately Riley came down with another fever yesterday, which is not welcome!  More ups and downs, highs and lows.  It's no wonder that we are all craving sunny temps, fresh fruit and missing Summer!

The girls collaborated on this surfer picture, made with their Wiki Stix!
and they have craved fresh fruit salad more than ever.  It's pricy this time of year but sometimes you just have to go for it.  And really, anytime they are begging for a healthy snack I'm happy to oblige!
We also spent a lot of time thinking of the very first puppy that was in my girl's lives.  He was playful, sweet and a great pet right up to the end.  He didn't suffer, he passed quickly and calmly.  We are all sad - my Mom, heartbroken but we are thankful we had one last trip to Cape Cod with him this past August and one last Christmas with him.  Bye Sweet Puppy, you will be missed by us all!

  1. Aww how sad about your mom's puppy! I hope your daughter feels better too. Fruit smoothies are a good thing to do in the winter time with frozen berries. I think they are better than 'fresh' berries this time of year. Have a happy Monday!

    1. Thanks Stacy! I agree smoothies are a staple around here too! Cheaper and better when you're buying organic as well! Next year I'm doubling what we pick! We already have run out!
