Take Time For You

This first week of May is turning out to be an absolutely beautiful one. We've seen the sun more than not and it's been such a sweet gift to enjoy time outside.  I cannot remember the last time we saw consistent 70° temperatures in May so we are all taking full advantage of spending as much time outside as we can, seeing what's popping up around the house, riding bikes and just getting outside. Is a whole new "room" to explore and its big and beautiful!

This week I'm also preparing for Riley's first sleepover party. She turns 11 on Saturday so a few friends will come over after school on Friday and the festivities will begin.  Don't even get me started on how she's turning 11 already, anyone who has ever read my blog knows that my children are my absolute joy and love.  So much emotion regarding that fact can stop me in my tracks at any given moment, it can sneak up on me but it's always there. I know a lot of moms feel the same way.  I'm focused on celebrating her this week and making her party and birthday memorable. We have a lot of fun things planned and I'll be sharing a lot of them next week but for now… I have a ton of work to get done. Blogging is a little later lately because of commitments but also because of some things that I want to get done.

So for today, I hope that you are enjoying some time doing whatever you love - whether that is getting outside for a walk, scooping up your children and giving them lots of hugs, reading a good book or taking a bath! Make some time to do the things YOU enjoy! I've found a great sense of joy this past week as I've planned Riley's party. I'm feeling happier and fulfilled doing things for those I love most.

I hope you are doing the same.

  2. Oh I forgot that your daughter and I have the same birthday!! Tell her I wish her a happy birthday all the way out in Oregon. And I understand how you feel about her turning 11 but I tell ya what, I'd rather be turning 11 compared to the age I am about to be! Ha ha ha, it is just a matter of perspective!

  3. That's so great! Happy birthday to Riley. I remember being 11. I always feel weird when my friends have children that are ages that I vividly remember! Hooray for nice weather too. I plan on taking the kid's to the nature center today.

  5. I know how crazy busy things can get. I missed my usual Friday post. We ended up so crazy busy on Thursday. Friday we went to visit our friend who is battling to save her leg. She is doing better, but not as well as I would like.

I am so much like you, FAMILY comes first! I think it is wonderful how special you make HOME for your family.
