Best Bubbles EVER

Well Summer is officially here!  The past couple of seasons have been challenging and it's wonderful to see that we're on the other side of it! This past weekend we celebrated by spending a lot of time outside, playing four square and having a delicious dinner! We also took time to make some monstrous bubbles! I've seen them on Pinterest in the past and didn't quite believe my eyes but for any skeptics, these are absolutely incredible and so much fun! The only thing I would do differently next time is make a double batch!  With a few simple ingredients you can easily make your own giant bubble solution. There's just something about these that lift spirits and make people happy!  This time, I tried to jar the remaining bubble solution, not sure if that will work out but I will definitely keep you posted on that!
Giant Bubble Solution
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon glycerin
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup classic blue Dawn dish soap
Directions
  1. In a large pitcher, dissolve cornstarch in water and stir until completely dissolved.
  2. Slowly add the remaining ingredients and stir.
  3. Let sit for at least on hour and occasionally stir, the ingredients will settle so it's good to keep mixing it up.
A Couple of Tips:
  • Don't stir too quickly, avoid it getting too frothy and sudsy. It will work better if it isn't.
  • Make sure you use baking powder NOT baking soda
  • Dawn works best - I don't use it on my dishes but this works well for bubbles.
  • The more you play with it, the better it gets!
The next time you have a long day ahead and not too much to do, or once the "I'm bored" statements sneak in, send the kids outside - or better yet JOIN THEM and make the most fantastic bubbles ever! Trust me, they will amaze everybody!
