Sugar Goblin Feature: A New Tradition

This post is part of a sponsored campaigned for the sugar goblin. I received compensation for my participation, but my review and opinions on my own.
As we welcomed October, it was hard to ignore the influx of Halloween merchandise and candy in the stores! I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Halloween. While I love watching my girls experience the fun and dress-up, I don't always love the ridiculous amount of candy they collect and unfortunately, consume at times! We have participated in a candy swap at our local dentist office the past couple of years. Basically, the girls trade in candy and that candy gets donated to the troops overseas. In exchange for that, the kids get toothpaste and new toothbrushes.

Recently, I learned of The Sugar Goblin. The sugar goblin is a plush toy, storybook and new tradition that will entice your kids to actually eat less candy this Halloween!

Crystal and Michael Boyle, came up with the idea of the Sugar Goblin when they decided that they are children or collecting and eating way too much candy on Halloween. Like so many of us, they wanted to limit the amount of candy eaten and likes the idea of extending the Halloween tradition. The Sugar Goblin inspires kids to exchange the candy for fun pranks and presents.

Each Sugar Goblin kit includes a fun illustrated book packaged with the plush toy. The story talks about the idea that Sugar Goblins have always played silly tricks in order to get treats on Halloween. Candy is the only thing that Sugar Goblins eat and with their stash of candy running low, they are trying to bring back the tradition of jokes, pranks and of course Halloween fun.

This Halloween, parents can invite the Sugar Goblin into their homes before Halloween. The idea is that you will place your Sugar Goblin somewhere as a surprise or just give it to your kids to play with. Families can create their own Halloween tradition based on what works best for them. Some parents might like to hang pictures upside down, make funny faces with food at breakfast time or even making silly tea parties with their child's stuffed animals. In exchange for these tricks, children will be in encouraged to volunteer and give up some of their candy to help feed the Sugar Goblin village.

This fun tradition will encourage kids to give up a little more of their candy and will encourage families to have more Halloween fun! Designed for children's ideally ages 4 to 8, the Sugar Goblin is available soon on Amazon.com and Target.com!
