Reflecting

2015 has been a year of changes, milestones, challenges, growing, and fun. Looking back on my January 5th, 2015 post I had written about having courage not fear. The point of that post was that life throws unexpected hurdles in your way and that you can't control that but you can control your reaction. I spent this year keeping my emotions in check, letting things slide, controlling my reactions to upsetting or irritating situations and saying no when needed. That's not to say I didn't slip up from time to time but in general, I made progress and worked hard to become the best role model I could for my own daughters. I focused on our family, our goals and needs. There were challenges but overall it was a good year. I still have work to do, life is a journey but I'm happy to say I've changed for the better in 2015. This goal continues and I think it will for the foreseeable future. Some goals take time. Sometimes we need to check in with ourselves even after we're certain we've mastered them.

As we approach 2016 I'm feeling very optimistic about the new year. I am looking forward to a fresh start, there's something magical about the idea of a new year, a clean calendar, hopes, dreams and possibilities ahead. I love the idea of a clean slate and a fresh start!

Happy New Year!
