Thrifting Monday

Inspired by Our Life in a click, I thought I'd take this Monday to share some things I've scored during my most recent trip thrifting! Let me start by saying I'm a novice thrifter at best but I'm getting better. I always am amazed at the goodies people find but come up short when I head out myself.  I have a hard time digging through but sometimes I have luck.  Last week, I decided to take a peek at the Spring racks and was glad I did!  I scored a few items for myself and the girls.

First up - sunny Spring t-shirts from Gap and Life is Good!  I love the Hello Sunshine, bright and cheery! These were .50 a piece!  Score!
Next, I found this adorable Gap kafatan in Riley's size. $2
Finally, a Spring oxford from Old Navy, it reminds me of a Jcrew shirt I had in college! $1
It's safe to say it was a successful shopping trip. I really have to remember to take the time to look!

Have you been thrifting lately?  Any tips would be appreciated!

    1. They have a 1/2 price sale once a week and I hit it JUST right! I'll be back though, I was happy with that caftan!

  2. Thrift shops are my preferred clothing stores, ha. The larger variety of styles and colors is what gets me, really - Target, I love, but I'm finding less and less that I would actually wear there. While it's always a gamble as to whether there will actually be something at the thrift shop worth buying, it's at least going to cost less than anything I find anywhere else! I actually need to make a Goodwill run in the next week or so, need to see about finding some shorts or capri pants!
So far as suggestions or tips...if you are able to and there are locations enough to do it, make a day of thrifting! We used to do that often, go to all the Goodwills in the general area. Better luck in finding things, and then you start to get a feel for the quality of stuff at each store - some stores are good...some are a bit, well, cheaper. Then try and find the closest Goodwill to the "nicer" neighborhoods ;)

  5. Very successful shopping trip for you!
I have one store I always do well in, but others always have me leaving empty handed. I do know a lot of it has to do with my mood. I have to really be in the mood to get in there and look, and some days that just isn't in me.

    1. You do need to be in the mood, no question! It's not a place you can just grab and go, it takes time!
