Barefoot by the Sea: Convenience

Thursday, April 26, 2012

I know we are a society that is busier than ever.  Parents, who don't have the luxury or desire to stay at home...running from place to place, appointments, practices, etc.  We need food that's easy, convenient and nutritous.  I've tried to get into the habit of getting some easy "self serve" snacks ready for the kids in the beginning of the week.  The bottom drawer of our refridgerator is reserved for them so when they are complaining they are hungry, I suggest checking that to pick what they'd like.  These snacks include organic carrots, fresh fruit, almond or peanut butter with crackers (I make my own - cheaper and healthier), almonds, applesauce, homeade granola bars and mini muffins.

These new "FlatJacks" seem easy and convenient....but just wrong.

This "Chicken Snack" is for the toaster?
Still, who am I to argue with the cool guy promoting these tasty treat?
