Take it ALL in
As of today, my 2nd grader officially has 1.5 days of school left. Yesterday was a fun filled field day. Today, more excitement. Monday she will participate in "step up day". Ugh, even as I write this, my emotions are getting the best of me. Yes, I'm "that Mom". The Mom who seems to weep at every season, every accomplishment, every stage. I even found myself tearing up yesterday as I watched my sweet Sydney exclaim, "I'll be going to school soon Mama!" Yes, I'm happy for them....it's my mission to develop them into wonderful human beings - or to try my hardest to do so. Still, I can't help but remembering everyone approaching my tiny baby in the grocery store saying:
It truly does. But it's been wonderful and I know I have several more years that, in retrospect will pass at warp speed. For now, I'm going to take it all in. I've thought a lot about a blog vacation and I'm going to start that as of today. I don't know how long I'll be gone and I'm hoping to still blog 2-3 times a week this Summer. That being said, time is just too precious for me to be sitting in front of my computer and talking about living - for now, I'm going to get out there with the kids and enjoy this special Summer with them.
