School Vacation Recap!
I love to go away on vacation, I love the feeling of getting a break from the daily grind and having an escape. Several of our friends were lucky enough to go away last week and I have to admit, I was a little....green with jealousy envious with the thought of going somewhere warmer and sunnier. The funny thing? The girls were just happy to be on vacation and happily settled into a good old fashion, New England break!
That's the funny thing about children, it seems like what they have is just enough. They don't always want to be somewhere warmer or sunnier or better or bigger or cleaner or more exciting. Sometimes it's just enough for them to play and be happy. I love that about them. I love that they enjoy the simplest things, watching the snow, doing a little baking with Mom, a board game, watching a movie. After-all, isn't that what being a child is all about?
Our week was relaxed and low key, no major plans but it was so nice to be schedule free. We did manage to head over to our local greenhouse to get a break from our slushy/ice/snow filled week. The temps felt wonderful there and we were so lucky to stumble upon their new fairy area! The girls were lost in this little fairy land for over two hours. Yes, two hours! So much to see and explore and I got to read a lot about different plant varieties and start dreaming more about Spring.
With temperatures inching up this week, I can't help feel like Spring is actually on it's way. I've always felt like March was the last, potentially harsh Winter month and then it's smooth sailing after that!
Happy Monday my friends! It feels like a great start to the week! Linking up today over at Clever Chicks!
I think that it is a good reminder how happy and content kids are. At what point does that change? I think I need to concentrate more on being content with what I have, like my kids are :-) Great thoughts on this Monday morning! Glad you had such a wonderful break!
ReplyDeleteThe fairy area looks so fun! I'm glad they enjoyed it :) If it kept their attention for 2 hours I guess they really liked it haha!
ReplyDeleteIt is going to be slightly warmer here as well this week. I can't wait to ditch the coat!
Thanks for visiting me! Love your blog :) Hope you'll stop by for a fun party tomorrow!

That's what I love about kids! They don't need fancy or expensive. We always joke that you take the kids to Disneyland and they want to spend the day at the hotel pool.
ReplyDeleteI love Wentworth! They do such an incredible job with the fairy houses! And i hear there's another Violet? ;) Love it! And the pictures are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing!
