Charlie's Soap Review & Giveaway!
Who doesn't love a BONUS Friday Giveaway? This one is from Charlie's Soap!
The flu hit our humble abode last week and the days that followed were a blurry mess of cleaning and tons of laundry. Of course, I'm always switching my laundry detergent, having tried to make my own, to the brand of the moment that claims to be the best for baby. Yes, this will sound like an advertisement but trust me, I'm hooked! This stuff is good! I think I may have found a keeper and for someone who is obsessed with cleaning and cleaning with natural detergents, that says a lot.
So, when Charlie's Soap kindly sent me some products to test out I was pretty excited. I got to try an 80 load bag of laundry powder, a 16 load bottle of laundry liquid, a bottle of their all purpose cleaner, and it all came with a green grocery tote.
Here's the deal, I had seen Charlie's Soap a while ago and had planned on getting some for quite some time. I love the vintage look of their packaging and it comes in a cute little drawstring bag. It makes it look like I've got some super fancy detergent! I'm tempted to buy extra just to line up above my washer.
The number one reason I love this stuff? It's safe, non-toxic, and biodegradable. It doesn't contain any lye, brighteners, whiteners, dyes, softeners, petroleum, or perfume. It is safe and effective for all fabrics, including silk, wool, cotton, linen, microfiber, and waterproof gear.
For the past week, I have been using both the Laundry Liquid and the Powder on all my laundry - even the FLU laundry (and there was a ton of it). I can honestly say that I was a wee bit skeptical in the beginning, because you are only supposed to use one tablespoon per load. After using it, I am impressed. Our clothes are soft and clean, and the dirtiest of clothing doesn't smell one bit. They clean the heck out of everything all while being safe for my family and the earth. It costs about $0.20 a load, so it's fairly priced for a really amazing , safe detergent. I highly recommend it!
Next, the all purpose cleaner. The first thing I tried this on was our old wooden kitchen table, which was my parents. This thing has had a hard life and has lots of ink and crayon marks here and there. I try to clean it often but never can remove them. I was pretty surprised when I used the Charlie's All Purpose cleaner and it wiped off the dingy marks that have been there forever. I proceeded to clean my bath tub, sinks and counter top and found that it was easy to use and actually go the stuff really clean. So much better than I anticipated! Can you tell how excited I am about this product? Amazing, really!
So, it's official, I'm going to make the switch to Charlie's Soap. It's safe, economical and looks pretty cool. They also claim to clean everything from "False Teeth to Diesel Engines", really? I'll have to keep that in mind!

FYI: I did not receive payment in any form for this review but I did receive a sample of the product or service for testing and review purposes. This did not sway my opinion, I do dig this stuff!
I'm currently very interested in overhauling any chemical products in my life after reading a very interesting book, "Not just a pretty face". I love that their products are all non-toxic and safe. I would love a chance to win these products to try them for myself! Thanks!!

I learned that you need to clean out your washing machine first by doing a load of old rags or towels so that Charlie's soap can get rid of any additives left behind in the machine before doing your first load with Charlie's Soap.

I learned that you can even use this on baby clothes! That's awesome because I have to buy two separate laundry detergents right now - one for us and one for my daughter!

I learned most detergents leave perfumes, brighteners, and/or fabric softeners on your clothes to cover up the fact that the detergent really didn’t clean anything. Ok, that's sick!
