What happens on the 4th....

Our Fourth Of July celebration was spent at home with our immediate family.  It was a lot of fun, we had a cookout and spent our evening enjoying our traditional red, white and blue dessert (angel food cake topped with strawberries, blueberries and fresh whipped cream).

In New Hampshire, fireworks are legal and our neighborhood often has a little celebration for the kids.  Nothing crazy, just little pops, usually at dusk on the evening of the 4th.  This year was different, someone called the police and because of that, we were unable to have our usual celebration.  So instead, we made our own "display".
Yes, those would be sparklers - in a little container that lasted for about four minutes.   Believe it or not, still a hit for our little ones and a silly tradition we won't forget.

Take that, you party poopers!
