Carving, Costume Parade and Festivities!

Our weather prompted our city to postpone trick or treating until November 3rd.  It will be different but certainly safer for the little ones and more pleasant without rainboots, umbrellas and coats.  Plus, unless you're Mary Poppins, nobody wants to be blown away while trick or treating.  Still, we've been in Halloween mode for the past couple of days.  Today, it's official, Happy Halloween!  Our celebrating started last Friday, with our annual Halloween parade at my daughter's school.  It's a fun event and the kids love it.  We had a beautiful, sunny Fall day.

This past weekend we enjoyed some pumpkin carving and watched some pumpkin specials.  The girls love It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and always giggle throughout the show.
Tonight, our celebration will continue with a few ghost stories (kid friendly, of course), a dance party (my kid's love The Witch Doctor) and some Mummy Pizzas I discovered over on Simply Sweet Nectar.  If you haven't checked out this blog, be sure to stop by and say hello!  She's got some great recipes and inspiring ideas!

Hope you have a very Happy Halloween!  I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that tomorrow is November 1st!

  1. Very cool! We are trying to explain the kids why we probably won't be going trick or treating this year. I think there is a Halloween party at the Boys and Girls club which we might try...at least we would be dry and warm!
