King Arthur Flour Feature and Giveaway!
This week, I started holiday baking. I usually get started around the 15th every year to allow time for gift delivery and then do one more round of baking for our family the days before Christmas Day. My "go to" assistant with my baking has been King Arthur Flour for years. Why did I choose this brand over others? I believe that using a better quality flour results in better baking. King Arthur puts their heart and soul into their high quality products and have been in business since 1790. Read the details here. This employee-owned company, owned by the bakers themselves results in a common vision that we are lucky enough to share. King Arthur may be a little pricier than some other brands but it's because they use only the finest wheat, subjected to strict guidelines resulting in the very best products you can buy. Look for King Arthur's products online here or in supermarkets nationwide.
"We run our company the way we make our mixes - with quality and integrity. Our business is based on three pillars: people, planet and profit. We make decisions not solely around profitability but on doing what's right for our customers and for our environment." I really think it's important to know where your food comes from - for our planet's future and for our children's future.
King Arthur also has a wide variety of gift ideas, tools, mixes - so much more than I even imagined in their store. High quality and competitively priced, I encourage you to check out some of the variety. I was particularly intrigued by their Holiday Mixes for those who have little time to bake from scratch or had grand expectations regarding their baking plans (ahem, like me) and find themselves scrambling to make and give a delicious homemade items. They also have wonderful Gift Sets, perfect for friends, family, teachers, neighbors or yourself (yes, even YOU need a gift after all your holiday planning!)
Happy Friday my friends!

I decided to make some bread for neighbors and teachers, (that recipe is coming next week) and used an assortment of items from King Arthur. I also wanted some gifts to keep on hand and thought their Vermont Country Cheddar bread gifted with a bottle of their Boyajian Herb Flavored Oil would be lovely. Homemade economical and a little less labor intensive for this Mama who is busy getting a lot of other things wrapped up right now. This particular loaf can be made by hand or in the bread machine. I chose to make it by simply mixing the box of mix, yeast, butter and water. You simply mix it, allow it to rise for an hour and then bake it. The result is delicious. The bread is light and flavorful. My four year old exclaimed it "tasted like homemade macaroni and cheese" (that's a win for us!) Here's a look at just how easy this is to make:
Fluffy, pure delicious mix!
Ready to rise!
