Brown Sugar Pumpkin Bread
Yes, more bread! We make a lot of it around here: for fundraisers, breakfasts and snacks. This is one treat we always make a lot of! I always make an extra loaf to tuck into the freezer. This time it was Brown Sugar Pumpkin Bread, yummy!
Brown Sugar Pumkin Bread
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups flour (as always, I use King Arthur
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup solid packed pumpkin
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons butter (regular or dairy free)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
- Sift the flour, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg into a large bowl. Mix in the pumpkin, brown sugar, buttermilk, egg and butter until well blended. Pour into a 9x5 inch loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 1 hour in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Enjoy!
yup, i definitely think i will be making this today or tomorrow! my house is freezing, and i could do with a bit of pumpkin bread :-)
