Celebrating 7!
I'm happy to report that we are officially in birthday season around here! Summer seems to be big birthday months for our family, which means a lot of cooking and baking, and a lot of the festivities! This past Saturday we celebrated Sydney's 7th birthday. Not exactly sure how I have a 7 and 11-year-old already! For some reason, I never really thought about life would be like past ages 6 and 10. Nevertheless, my children keep on growing like all kids have a sneaky way of doing!
We celebrated this past weekend with a couple friends coming over, lots of giggles and of course cupcakes! Sydney was absolutely insistent that she wanted the theme centered around the new Cinderella movie. If you aren't familiar with that, you're not alone…I don't think it was considered much of a hit but Sydney absolutely loved it. It came out this past March and she's been talking about it ever since! I did my best to locate Cinderella party supplies with no success so I decided we would focus on a Cinderella/butterfly theme. No matter how "small "of a party, I can never really keep it to simple.
Since the party was from 2 to 4, we had simple snacks including veggies and hummus, pirate and veggie booty, fruit wands and little cheese and cracker mice. Cupcakes and ice cream completed the party fare, along with some tiny macaroons.
The girls made butterfly wands and did glittery butterfly tattoos. Games included a butterfly scavenger hunt and pass the glass slipper. We finished off the day with those giant magical bubbles my kids are loving right now.
A fun time was had by all, especially my sweet birthday girl!
The live action Cinderella? I adored it!!! The party looked so fun! Those little mouse cheese crackers. How adorable!! Happy Birthday to Sydney!
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah I remember Cinderella. We saw it in the theater with family. Your snacks are so adorable! Happy birthday to your little girl.
