Summer Eats

I'm happy to report that were actually starting to harvest some of our veggies from the garden now! Keep in mind, our garden is tiny but you can grow a lot in a small amount of space! We're getting zucchini, squash, beans, jalapenos, tons of herbs (basil, parsley, mint...) and little orange and yellow tomatoes.  We have A LOT of tomatoes on the horizon, eggplant and onions. What an amazing time of year!  The farmstands are full of fresh, local fruits and vegetables, and the farmers markets are in full swing. This is the time of year makes our bodies happy! Delicious, healthy local food! There is something about growing my own veggies that makes me get chopping! We've been busy enjoying delicious smoothies and salads lately! The freshness is amazing! Here's a look at the kitchen goodness!

Yummy mango smoothies! No, we don't grow mango but they are so fresh right now and more affordable!
Delicious Italian Chopped Salads!
Mexican Chopped Salad full of fresh cilantro and avocado!
My goal lately has been to keep the oven off and only fire up the grill. My picking hands are ready, my cutting board awaits!

  1. I don't know how big your garden is, but that sounds very substantial to me! I miss having a garden so much! That food looks yummy.
