Overnight Oats: Revisited!

I know I've blogged about overnight oats before, this certainly isn't a new idea. Type in the term anywhere on Pinterest and you'll find a slew of overnight oats tips, recipes and ideas. Have you ever really loved something and then sort of forgotten about it? That's definitely what happened to me and I'm rediscovering how amazing these powerful little jars are! The possibilities are endless, and the truth is you can make these as healthy, indulgent or practical as you want. There are also super economical! My family has loved trying different recipes and customizing them to their liking.
This past Sunday I decided to put out an overnight oats "bar" so that everyone could make their own jars. They loved this activity and actually asked if they could bring a jar to school for lunch with them. This is a great, hardy and healthy meal that takes you back to the basics: oats/seeds or nuts (or both) fruit and a sweetener (optional), we find bananas are sweet enough but maple syrup or a little honey goes a long way! I think this would be a great activity for a sleepover night!

Customizing and personalizing jars full of healthy goodness is a win-win for both moms and kids alike! Who's hungry?

  4. Love the "bar" idea! Great way to get the family involved. I still haven't tried the overnight oats... I just can't seem to get myself to plan breakfast out... I really need to try, my breakfast needs some variety added to it.
